In my last post I announced that I had the chance to do some high-profile interviews during the last Automatica show in June. My goal was to get some answers for you if you are planning to invest into robotics for your production and if you don’t know exactly how and where to start.
I have to admit I kind of underestimated the effort, but as promised you will find my first interview with Jens Fetzer from CENIT here:
Simulation is adding value to Robotic Processes
The interview is divided into four parts and has an interesting twist. In part 1, Jens talks about the added value of simulating your robotics processes. He clarifies what exactly can be simulated and which processes benefit directly from their virtual counter part. Most important, you will learn how simulation can help you to cope with the lack of skilled labour.
Why simulation is also a necessity if you work with cobots
Now we are coming to the twist, as in the second part I wanted to know if it really makes sense to invest into simulation, if you are having a cobot – as they are known for being easy to program. The answer may surprise you!
In the next part, Jens is wrapping up the pros of simulating your processes and I promise: they are manifold! Thus, he will have a closer look at which processes will benefit the most.
Which processes are benefitting the most from a virtual sandbox?
He is closing the interview with an answer to the question “Who is benefitting the most from having a virtual robot cell in addition to the real one?”
I’d appreciate if you shared your experience with simulation in the comments below. Let me know how you think about simulation and cobots and don’t forget to like and subscribe in order to support this channel.
Thanks for watching / reading.
